Access for Researchers with an Existing Bloomberg Terminal Login
NOTE: You must have the Citrix Receiver application installed on your computer. If you have not yet downloaded Citrix Receiver, please do so here: https://bba.bloomberg.net/Install/Client.
- Go to the Bloomberg Anywhere website: https://bba.bloomberg.net/.
- Log in to the platform using your Bloomberg user name and password.
- Verify your account using your mobile phone or your email address.
- Click Launch and open the .ica file.
- Bloomberg will load multiple windows on your desktop. You can resize these windows by clicking on the options menu located in the upper-right corner of the screen.
- When you are finished with your session, remember to log off.
Access for Researchers WITHOUT an Existing Bloomberg Terminal Login
Students and faculty that do not have an existing Bloomberg Terminal login can request a Bloomberg username and password on the Bloomberg for Education portal. This is a two-part process that requires new users to register on the Bloomberg for Education Portal and create a Bloomberg Terminal Login. These are two separate platforms with separate credentials.
Part 1: Create a learner account on the Bloomberg Education Portal Potrace mac brew.
Mac Download Software
- Go to https://portal.bloombergforeducation.com/register
- Click on the Sign up as a Learner button.
- You MUST create an account using your @yale.edu email address. Requests from other email addresses will not be approved.
- Activate your account with the link provided in your verification email. You will automatically be directed back to the Bloomberg for Education website.
- Click on the Terminal Access tab, located on the navigation bar at the top of the page.
You will see the following message:
Your account is currently associated with: Yale University. A faculty member at your academic institution must authorize this account before you are able to create a Bloomberg Terminal login. Please refer to your school's guidelines on how to notify a faculty member of your interest in access to a Bloomberg Terminal. The Bloomberg for Education support team cannot authorize accounts for access to Bloomberg Terminals.
You do not have to notify a faculty member for access. Your request will be reviewed within 1-2 business days, and you can expect to receive an email from business.reference@yale.edu to notify you that you have been authorized for a Bloomberg Terminal Login.
Part 2: Create a Bloomberg Terminal Account
- After you have received approval to create a Bloomberg Terminal account, Return to the Bloomberg for Education web portal and navigate to the Terminal Access tab.
- Follow the prompts to create a Bloomberg Terminal Login.
- Once your Bloomberg Terminal account has been created, you may log in at https://bba.bloomberg.net/. Please refer to Access for Researchers with an Existing Bloomberg Terminal Login instructions for assistance.
